M&C Saatchi Public Relations hired by blockchain pioneers Nodal as retained agency

Brief includes public relations programme, digital and design support, and strategic counsel toward ICO

Nodal Labs, a blockchain-based talent and recruitment platform launching in Spring has today announced the appointment of M&C Saatchi Public Relations as its long-term retained agency in the UK for support across media relations, events, social and community management, and content development, following a highly successful funding round from ABH Management LLP.

The contract also involves the development of Nodal Lab’s website in tandem with internal developer teams; alongside strategic counsel working towards a planned ICO as part of a steering committee. The combined fees for the year are a significant six figure sum.

The contract extends M&C Saatchi Public Relations’ significant Business & Technology practice which includes other technology and innovation brands alongside business-to-business, corporate, and government clients.

The Nodal platform has been developed by entrepreneur and founder Oliver Hibbs-Brockway and is reinventing the model for freelancer management, recruitment, and vendor management. The platform, launching across the Creative, VFX, Film, Construction, Property and Engineering sectors, uses blockchain technology to seamlessly automate timesheets, on-boarding of freelancers, compliance as well as guarantee that skills and experience quoted matches that of the candidate.

Hibbs-Brockway has hired world-class acumen to build the business, The Mill’s former Global Head of Talent, Garreth Gaydon joining as Director of Talent Engagement whilst former Lead Designer at The Mill, Nick McCarth also moved to take on Chief Product Officer at Nodal Labs. Eitan Jankelewitz, known as ‘Britain’s Blockchain Barrister’ and widely regarded as one of the World’s foremost authorities on blockchain technology, sits as advisor to the board along with Jamie Smith, both on behalf of leading media law firm Sheridans.

Oliver Hibbs-Brockway, said: “We are building a trust economy that changes the way people work and interact with each other, our freelancer management platform has attracted the very best internal talent and I have continued this ethos in the appointment of M&C Saatchi Public Relations to handle the strategic development, launch, and future profile of the brand. Having spoken to various different agencies at the prospecting stage, only M&C Saatchi Public Relations gave us honest, strategic counsel which will set us up for future success. This made the decision an easy one to partner with them”.

Chris Hides, Co-Founder and Global Managing Director, M&C Saatchi Public Relations adds: “Nodal Labs can become one of the biggest and most valuable technology brands for years, and the potential for the business is huge. The chance to work from the outset in crafting the brand narrative; development of assets and design materials; and launching the brand to the market make this a very rare opportunity, and to be a partner in this is something we’re proud and excited by”.
